A LEADER FOR THE WORKING CLASS
What do we all want?
-To be able to afford the things we need to live.
-To be able to invest in our futures and retirement.
-To have some excess, so we can actually enjoy life.
We need to do all of that, while safeguarding rural and urban education and healthcare, as well as small businesses, especially the Wisconsin heritage of the small family farm. The future for ourselves, our children, and all those that come after us must be protected now.
We can protect our traditions and achieve enriched lives, through progressive measures that help make life for all peoples better.
The first steps we need to take are:
-Increasing the minimum wage in stages until it is a living wage greater than $17/hr, with yearly increases linked to the Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA). Raising the minimum wage protects the working class from the investor class. The investor class and corporations need to be reminded that we are NOT A HUMAN TAX and fair living wages are not only ethical, many small businesses already make them possible.
-Protecting and supporting Social Security by making corporations pay their fair share by eliminating the $176,100 wage cap for company contributions to Social Security. Our small businesses pay their fair share but many corporations only pay taxes on a fraction of the wages they report. This is money stolen from the people by the ultra wealthy.
-Ensure progressive change in our government by instituting a 20 year term limit for Congress and the Supreme Court and a retirement age for all three branches tied to the maximum age for delayed retirement credits, currently 70 years.
